No more transfer fees!!!1111

Post by Ethiaa » Fri Sep 18, 2015 8:21 am

The union that represents footballers around the world will on Friday launch a landmark legal action against Fifa in the hope of outlawing the transfer system and fundamentally changing the professional game.

It's an interesting argument.

Unfortunately football seems to be exempt from obeying laws.

Some good suggestions, such as limit on squad size and agents fees seems reasonable but then I don't understand the logic behind getting rid of the loan system. To me it's a great way for young players to gain valuable first team experience at another club rather than being stuck in the reserves/U21s.

It'll remove a major revenue stream for smaller clubs who survive by developing and then selling on players. That'd need to be addressed in some way, possibly by redistributing TV money from the upper leagues.
