Klopp making a difference with LFC?

Post by WacoRover » Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:11 pm

No re-taking of 'Fortress Anfield' yet, but Road-warriors...

Chelsea, 1-3

ManC, 1-4

S'hamp today (League Cup), 1-6.

Mighty impressive, unleashing Scouse-power all over the PL

Ha, yep, I saw it.

Just when he was getting his guys back (Stur, Hendo), the Reds pick a weird time to lay an egg

To lay an egg - [for someone] to do something bad or poorly; to perform poorly on stage.
Can't say I've heard the phrase either

Haha. That the American equivalent to being 'a bit shit' I take it. And yes, I am reading old posts :paranoid:

I have to say, I think Liverpool raiding of Saints' roster has produced very little, but Mane may be the best they've got yet.

Wijnaldum probably overpriced, but they should make it back on Benteke.

Last 18 at home (all competitions), 15-3-0. Shoulda, coulda, beat MU.

The sleeping giant of English football may have awakened.

Still think they need a better goalkeeper and will have to defend better if they're going to win the league.

Also, as impressive as they are going forward I think they lack depth beyond the current quartet. After Firmino, Countinho, Mane and Lallana, fine there is Strurridge but he just doesn't do gegenpressing then Origi and Wijnaldum. Is that enough?

I agree on your points. Karius is pressing Mig's for playing time, but a top 'keeper would supplant them both.

I like the midfield; I still think work is needed on defending.

Ings is out again (not that he is ever gonna be a top striker), &,as you say, Stur plays when he wants.

A top-4 outfit this season, surely; but, do they have the roster or the managerial genius to overtake MC? I am starting to doubt it.

Crap defending today at Bournemouth you're simply not going to win the Premier league with sorry defending like that

In answer to the title of the thread, no. Klopp's record so far doesn't look that different to Brendan Rodgers'.

He's making a pretty exciting team, but the defence is woeful. Possibly clyne aside, there is no one in the top half of the table who would look at a Liverpool defender as an upgrade
