Klopp making a difference with LFC?
Re: Klopp making a difference with LFC?
Laughably bad yesterday. No team will win this league by trying to score more than the opposition. The team that were the best at that, Keegan's Newcastle couldn't do it and Klopp's Liverpool won't.
I'd expect City and Liverpool to address their defence in January but still scratching my head at Bravo and Karius, both look pretty average really and no better than what they had.

Surely trying to not score more than the opposition isn't going to win you the league either?

Rochina was trying really hard to score though. Just only he was allowed to. And he wasn't very good at it.

You know what I meant.
I should rephrase, no team will win the league by overly focusing on attacking and being too open at the back to conceding goals. You need the right balance between attack and defence and to be adaptable in games.
Liverpool just seem to attack attack attack, which is great to watch and makes for high scoring and entertaining games.

Great time to be a Liverpool fan - entertaining games and still up at the top end of the table with the potential to improve at the back.
Re: Klopp making a difference with LFC?
In fairness they've been decent enough defensively with Matip and Lovren together.

Barcelona have been pretty effective over the years with the attack, attack, attack approach.
Still, thanks for giving us a good laugh Mcteeth.
I think the real issue is whatever approach you take, how effective it is depends on how good your personnel are. Liverpool aren't the strongest side however they play.

Collapses like today- Swans at home- is highly disturbing.
Losing to Burnley & Bournemouth earlier. Liverpool not going any further with Klopp than they did with Rodgers. I'm not thinking more/better players is the answer, either.

Do you ever watch any football Waco?
This kind of comment reminds me of the people who criticise Wenger.

I think the punditry after that game was actually half decent on match of the day for once. Talking drawing at Sunderland and the loses to Burnley, Bournemouth and Swansea it seems less about the quality of Liverpool as a team or the individuals but perhaps to do with concentration in those games. Something that never happens in the games they play against other top six sides where Klopp has a very impressive record both this season and last season. They always appear to be very focused in those bigger games but have conceded a load of avoidable and sloppy goals against lesser opposition.
Re: Klopp making a difference with LFC?
And are languishing in 4th place in the league. Grim times indeed.
Re: Klopp making a difference with LFC?
I didn't say it was grim. But if they're aiming to win the league it is results like that which will be their undoing. Probably the most interesting thing this season in the prem is who isn't going to make the top 4. I really hope it ends up being Man Utd and Arsenal.
