If Croatia beat Turkey (I think they will), Holland should beat Russia (maybe even thrash them), then we will have if Italy beat Spain a Holland v Italy semi-final and the other will be contested between Germany and Croatia. About a year ago now I said the 4 semifinalists would be - Portugal, Germany, Italy and Croatia if none met before, Portugal and Germany met last night, but it wasn't a bad prediction.
That prediction would never have worked as Germany, Portugal and Croatia were on the same side of the draw, therefore all three could not be in the semis/

and if the poor looking italians get spanked out of the tournament by the best looking team still in it, you will have got 1 out of 4, which is Germany and also right up there on the Mystic Meg scale along with predicting Terry Wogan will be drunk at the Eurovision song contest.

Yeah similar to how I predicted that Arsenal were going to slip out the top 4 last year. Apart from the fact they didn't, it wasn't a bad prediction...

David Pleats team of the tournament

Dull as you would expect, but millions of uberpoints for calling wesley snijder a "two footed beaver of a player"

Craig Gordon - £9m... Iker Casillas £8m?

Haven't read past the first line yet... does it get worse? ;)

Oh yes, the second most valuable player is apparently a right back... I appreciate that transfer value is based on fact, but then surely that should be applied to the rest of the team? Sneijder should probably be the most valuable player there.

And Torres before Villa? No Xavi?

(Ha ha, reached the comments at the bottom... I'm not the only one...)
