Thank fuck I gave up on the national side years ago. Some people STILL pay to watch them :dunce:
I think that has as much to do with the players as the manager. Shambolic the lot of them.

In related news, I'm off to watch the England match on Wednesday!

Not necessarily as a fervent supporter of the national team, more to do with the fact that I've never been to Wembley (new or old), not seen a live match in ages and I'm meeting up with Uni friends I haven't seen in quite a while.

Let's hope my attendance this week will inspire a renaissance of style and commitment in the England side for years to come. (as if)

I don't know about inspiration, but I imagine a giant jumping rabbit in the stands might raise a few eyebrows...

However much I dislike the man, Redknapp will make an excellent England manager in my opinion. He's brilliant at getting teams to play for him.

I think that has as much to do with the players as the manager. Shambolic the lot of them.
But if any of the players are lacking the commitment, the manager has failed to pick up on their indifference and continued to select them. Both Eriksson and Capello are the same, unimaginative and take the Italian approach to the game. Both have had their relative successes at club level, but there they are able to bring in players who suit their tactics. At international level, you need to set the team up to play to its strengths. But they've both stuck to their blueprints and tried to squeeze players in out of position instead of looking at how English players are taught to play and making the most of that. But the FA are as much to blame for their choices of manager.

But the fact of the matter is England are not good enough to get past the 1/4 finals unless we get an easy team
