Gotta love Viv Anderson's comments, I totally agree.

World disappoints us once again: Japan loses 2022 3D holographic World Cup bid
Japan's incredibly great 2022 World Cup bid involved projecting 3D holograms of the games live onto soccer football fields around the world

Sorry I couldn't read anything further after :- "But really, world? You couldn't pick Japan just this once?" what with them having hosted it just eight years ago... :numpty;

Sepp Blatter has gone out of his way today to suggest the English are bad losers. There is no such thing as a good loser as most people are disappointed when things go against them. I know don't we had a devine right to host the world cup but at the same time lets be fair. Why have the Germans hosted the tournament twice since England did in 66. Its also been to Mexico twice in that time. I have no qualms about other countries like Russia and Qatar being chosen but by the time England get the chance to bid again no doubt other European coutries like France,Spain and Italy will be in the running. Of course though by that time the Germans will be wanting to host again. Let hope Blatter is long gone by that time.

Expecting logical decisions or insightful comments from FIFA and especially Septic Blatter is a fools errand.

Just cancel the bloody thing for a sensible location (yes they would lose their backhanders) or boycott?

Watching England is like watching us at our least creative. Ah well, could be worse, Northern Ireland lost to Luxembourg :dunce:

Well, it's not clear if the guy behind the final report expected it or not:
Hans-Joachim Eckert wrote:"I'm surprised, not shocked. I'm a long time in the job here. I don't think anything surprises me."
:whoosh:

Does anybody actually care?

Fifa has lodged a criminal complaint regarding "possible misconduct in connection with the hosting rights of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups".
Fifa president Sepp Blatter lodged the complaint on the recommendation of judge Hans-Joachim Eckert.
Eckert complied the 42-page report that gave the green light to Russia and Qatar to host the next two World Cups.
Blatter said: "If we had anything to hide, we would hardly be taking this matter to the Attorney General."
