Parker is as charismatic and inspirational as a pre-game kiss from a drunk Cilla Black. Sadly he's probably the obvious choice as well.

It should be Hart. Put the stupid question to bed for the next 15 years.

Great choice for captain. Experienced in captaining at club level it makes sense that he's stepped up to take the armband. Very happy at this decision :D

Parker's the most overrated player in English football at the moment.

you think?

football writers player of the year last year, and voted England Player of the Year by fans, and he's had a great season so far with spurs, perfect choice imo

The fact he's been given those awards is why I say he's the most over-rated. His contribution last season was so great his team were the only ones relegated before the last day. God knows why the journalists thought he was worthy of more recognition than a whole host of players who actually achieved something. Maybe they'll give their award to Paul Robinson this year if we get relegated...

But, it's a trait of the English game that midfielders with no forward vision and who give away needless fouls get more credit than those who have skill on the ball. There's always a need for a ball winner, but if that's all they've got they're the weakest player in the team by default.
