Two Indonesian teams banned for scoring deliberate own goals
Two Indonesian football teams have been thrown out of their play-offs for blatant match fixing - they managed to score FIVE quick own goals between them
Two teams in the Indonesian first division play-offs have been disqualified for the most blatant match fixing ever seen, scoring FIVE own goals.
Footage has emerged of PSS Sleman and PSIS Semarang clearly trying to deliberately score own goals to avoid a semi-final tie with Borneo FC, a club suspected to be backed by a local mafia.
Apparently the game was goalless up until the 86th minute, when Slemen bagged two own goals. Semarang immediately responded with THREE of their own before the final whistle, to make sure they lost the match.
That's a record of OGs even Richard Dunne would struggle to match.
Still, although their behaviour has been publicly shamed, it seems their plan couldn't have worked any better. Now neither side will be forced to play Borneo!
This would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous...
