Saw the Avengers the other day.

Thought it was pretty damn good. One of the best of the superhero films of the last ten years. Fair few clichéd moments in there. But, well acted and enjoyable.

Minor bug bear is Hawkeye missing his snazzy purple and blue cozzy.

It's all based on The Ultimates version of the Avengers. Hence Nick Fury being black.

Saw Red Tails the other night. Story of the American Negro squadron of fighter pilots in WW2. Typical American hollywood fodder really. Thin on story line other than the obvious. Air scenes not bad but overall disappointing. Could have been done better. I sometimes long for someone to do a proper film about the horrors of aerial conflict in WW2. We've seen saving private ryan and band of brothers lets see something for the men who battled i nthe skies over europe. Come on Mr Speilberg you know what to do.

Finally got round to seeing 'Killing Bono' at the weekend. Didn't realise it's about a real band. (And I don't mean U2).

I watched the Duellists, a film I have owned for at least 5 years and vaguely remembered. However, it turns out I didn't remember it and had never actually watched it at all, just bought it and promptly decided I had watched it at some point.

Anyway, it's a great film - considering it was shot in 1977 it's quite incredible. It's really only the soundtrack which would place it then - the cinematography is really quite stunning and a rather excellent cast. Well worth watching.

Dictator: Hilarious and i'd watch it again right now if i could!

American Pie Reunion : Not sure if it's as good as the first but again funny through most of it and i can't wait to see it again
