Recommended bands, new MUSIC to listen to etc..

Namely:

empire of the sun
phoenix
the temper trap
sigur ros

anyone know of any other bands like these worth listenin to or seein live? im usually into my underground stuff but find listenin to the radio on my night shifts have broadened my tastes somewhat...

type the bands you like into something like last.fm and see what it suggests :D

Ha ha this-a way... at first I thought you'd changed your avatar to a picture of someone in a KKK hood... :scratch:

The bands I think are like Sigur Ros are the likes of Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, and 65 Days of Static. But then none of them have a singer, so if it's the vocals you like rather than the dynamics of the music, they may be terrible suggestions. :scratch:

One of Sigur Ros has a new project called Riceboy Sleeps. Not heard it though so I don't know what it's like.

Oh, and one of the chaps from Empire of the Sun has also released music as The Sleepy Jackson although it's more indie than poppy

Them Crooked Vultures have just put out one of the best albums Ive heard in ages. Obviously being a supergroup they arent exactly out of nowhere but still a new band... :D
