Wait, so something natural causes the Earth to warm? Never.

I'm sure the scientists involved won't be getting a Christmas card from the IPCC this year...

Nah, they'll just say that the ice is melting because we're causing it to melt by pointing electric fires at it.

The melting is mainly influenced by the increased number of scientists measuring how much it is melting. :yeahright:

NASA Finds 2013 Sustained Long-Term Climate Warming Trend
NASA scientists say 2013 tied with 2009 and 2006 for the seventh warmest year since 1880, continuing a long-term trend of rising global temperatures.
It's also the 7th warmest year since 1998, but I guess that doesn't scream "sustained warming", so they break that news in a different way. Basically last year's data is irrelevant to the message they want to send out, because the trend would remain even if last year was an anomaly. Their records show the average global temperature has risen by about 0.8°C since 1880. If that's man-made, what should have happened?

Luckily, I don't know enough of the science to put a huge amount of stock in his opinion.
The world is going to end on Saturday...

Rick Perry who served on the boards of Energy Transfer Partners and Sunoco Logistics Partners, two oil and gas pipeline companies who he also had over half a million dollars worth of shares in? The same Rick Perry who had over a quarter of a million dollars worth of shares in Grey Rock Energy Fund which handles oil and gas leases?

I'm sure he has now put that money into something entirely non-carbon related as part of divesting himself of conflicts of interest and therefore is utterly unbiased. Just dumb.
