In the summer of last year my eldest daughter Emily was diagnosed with Leukaemia.
It was the hardest time of our lives, but after six months intensive chemotherapy, I'm pleased to say she's doing well, although not quite out of the woods yet.
It feels like the right time to do something positive, so in June, a growing group of friends and friends of friends are hiking a hilly (virtually mountainous!) marathon from a Rivington Pike to Peel Tower via Darwen Tower.
Football fans of most local clubs are doing the hike. So far there's about 20 of us, including a couple of Blackburn lads.
It would be great if you would consider sponsoring us just a few pounds.
There must be more to life than football?
