Re: Current Events/News
Trump must have access to information beyond the reach of regular people. Also, remember that he is ONLY the POTUS and does not have 100% ruling power over the US internal nor external politics. Nevertheless, he completely changed his mind on this and many other important issues... Seems like he is nothing more than a puppet.

Re: Current Events/News
May calls general election for the 8th June. Long overdue in my opinion.
Re: Current Events/News
Or hopes she will... Labour MPs might just vote against it regardless of what the official line is just for shits and giggles.

Re: Current Events/News
Truth.
Probably in their interests to do so, to be honest, more likely to have had a chance to regroup and therefore a chance of actually winning by 2020....
Though there will also be those Labour MPs who want to see them lose just so they can get shut of Corbyn.

Of course an election also allows you to get out of those tiresome commitments not to raise tax or VAT during the 'current parliament'.

Re: Current Events/News
Also true.
Labour indicating they will support the motion. So, barring a big rebellion, should happen.
Interestingly, for the first time in my life I'm actually in a constituency where the result isn't a foregone conclusion..... 'citin' actually having a say!

Re: Current Events/News
The House of Commons backed the PM by a margin of 522 votes to 13, above the two-thirds majority needed...
I worry for anyone who couldn't work that last bit out for themselves...
It could only really end up that way - The Conservatives will feel confident of holding their seats due to be consitently ahead in poll after poll. The anti-Corbyn Labour MPs will see it as the opportunity to get rid of him. And pro-Corbyn Labour, the Lib Dems and the SNP have to put their money where their mouths are.

So Trumpy fires the head of the FBI, who's currently investigating whether Trump's contact with the Russians during his election campaign is treasonous, ahead of talks with the Russian Foreign Minister...

Re: Current Events/News
Yeah, surely there's grounds to start impeachment right there.....
