Dallas Cowboys thread of dominance.

Post by WacoRover » Sat Dec 03, 2016 3:00 pm

It's time. 1995 was a long time ago. No, the defense isn't great, but the winning streak has me believing.

Go, you Dallas Cowboys!!!

You don't wanna start winning. It's just going to make people hate Texas even more.

But I will be happy! :D

Prescott for MVP, Elliott for Rookie of the Year! (or, vice-versa!)

it doesn't matter what it's called when you're winning.

For the record, to me, it's all about defense. You can't win without it, & Dallas simply doesn't have enough of it.

If I had to guess right now, I'd say Dallas goes out in the NFC Chamoionship.

Yes but this is the wrong thread.... ahem.

I still think the Browns are going to pull it out.

Dallas' total yards & turnovers, 260 & 3.

New York's total yards & turnovers, 260 & 3.

Final score: Dallas, 7; NY, 10.

No gripes here. Both sides had opportunities, both sides missed out.

I guess Dallas will have to win the division & home-field throughout the playoffs next week.

Looking forward to tonights game. Dallas needs to iron out the bugs in the offense, & continue to show improvement on the defense, where they have looked better.

Cowboys 5th in total offense (2nd in rushing), & 15th in total defense.

It is what it is; wish we were better on defense, but Dallas is still the best team in the NFL. Just cannot beat the Giants.

Tampa Bay, 16th in offense, 19th in defense. Dallas has to win this, win division, clinch homefield, etc.

Cowboys come through last night, but it wasn't easy. Tampa Bay isn't as good an outfit as Detroit, and Dallas had trouble, particularly, with penalties on the offensive side of the ball.

NY Giants still have to win both, Dallas just has to hope they lose one, so Dallas can win the Division & home field. We'll see.

Can we move this to the general nfl thread?

Anyway; was disappointed the Chiefs let it slip to Tenessee at the weekend. The AFC is by far the strongest side of the draw at present, and I think the Chiefs are the best bet of knocking off the dreaded Patriots currently. Though it would be nice to see Oakland and Menelik Watson do well!

Sorry I realize that after posting; if I could move it I would but I think a mod needs to.

I also favor the Chiefs. Yeah Derek Johnson and Jamaal Charles are both Texas exes and both played big parts in their success the last few years; however Johnson got hurt and I think his career is now over and Charles has missed most of the last couple of years. But I would like to see them knock the patriots off their perch.

Yeah two torn achilles at 31 and 33 probably not going to end well.

I like Alex Smith as well, he gets a lot of stick as a game manager, but to me that just reads as someone who doesn't make mistakes. Sure, he doesn't throw huge passes like big ben or Flacco, but he doesn't turn it over much either; probably cause he seems to weigh up the risk. When there's a decent downfield pass on he can and does make them, so for me it seems more a judgement call.

I don't get the Patriots hate. I get they are successful, ridiculously so in the era of salary cap parity, but they are well coached, and though except for Brady and Gronk, they don't have the "stars" that other teams defences or offenses have.

They are very much a "team", the sum of the parts is what makes them so successful. Good personnel decisions, good cap management and excellent coaching.

No one player or person is bigger than the team, a lot of NFL teams could do with learning that. As for deflategate, please don't make me laugh. They did nothing wrong and the science is there to prove it (recent games further prove it).

With the win against Denver on Sunday, Belichick now doesn't have a losing record against ANY side. That should be applauded, not despised.

I can't hate them like I hate Man Utd for their long periods of dominance. The Pats don't have that same arrogance as the United's of the world. I find them humble beyond reason.

I hate them exactly in the same way as i disliked Liverpool in the eighties and Man Utd in the 90s and 2000s. British fans follow them because they win. Dull, boring.

That you're trying to argue breaking the rules, regardless of whether it had any effect on the outcome, is doing nothing wrong just inflames that, in much the same way listening to someone like Wenger never seeing his players horrendous red cards in the early 2000s irritated the shit out of me.
