Man cements head into microwave
Five firefighters spent an hour working to release a YouTube prankster who had cemented his head inside a microwave oven.
The 22-year-old and a group of friends mixed seven bags of Polyfilla before pouring it around his head, which was protected by a plastic bag inside the appliance.

Tim farron was just on celebrity mastermind.... Chosen subject; Blackburn Rovers 1990-2000.

Fair to say that he absolutely crushed it... Full marks. I missed at least 2.

Deaf woman sues Little Mix promoter for not providing sign language interpreter for support acts.

Many would say being deaf at a Little Mix concert was preferable...

Most comments I've seen seem to focus on what's a reasonable adjustment. However, having seen an act perform with a signer before, I think the real issue here is that it creates a different experience rather than emulates it. I found myself watching the signer more than what was going on on stage. So presumably if you're dependent on the signer, you'll miss all the other visual aspects of the show.

"We only got access to the last act. If you went to a film can you imagine only getting access to the last 20 minutes?
That's not quite the same for starters... It would be more like going to a film, seeing the actual film that you wanted to see, but missing the trailers :D

I heard this on the radio this morning, and I think some common sense has to apply.
In a statement, LHG Live told the BBC: "We received a request from Sally Reynolds to supply an interpreter.
"We consulted with her recommended agency and agreed to provide the professional interpreter of her choice for the Little Mix show.
"This included specific staging and lighting, and a set list in advance."
LHG Live also provided upgraded tickets, access to private accessible toilets and all public announcements on giant screens either side of the main stage.
I'm not sure how anyone can argue that doesn't amount to reasonable adjustments.

Common sense would be explaining to the woman that a person with normal hearing would not usually be able to hear every word that is sung at a gig, it's not an essential part of "the experience". I'd love to know what she'd expect at a Sigur Ros gig...

Indeed, that accent needs a lot of practice... I assume the difficulty lies in the translator attending rehearsals with a band located on the other side of the world?

Mumsnet and Facebook are an amazing historical record of the stupidity of humanity.

Seems a lot of hassle for a tiny profit. It's an incredibly cheap horse though, can't be good for much.
