Diane Abbott thinks you can hire 10,000 police officers for £30 per year per officer..... or £8,000 a year.... or.....

She's only the shadow home secretary, how could... she... be, er... expected to... oh...

Kind of highlights how ridiculous this election is... Conservatives are basically going to draft a 2 page 'no promises' manifesto in the hope that the poll lead gets them over the edge and they can do away with the only thing that has been keeping them in check over the last 6 months.... Labour (and the rest) are desperately seeking to catch up by scatter-gunning eye catching policy ideas with little knowledge of whether they'll be possible or not.

If there was a decent amount of time we would at least be able to get an understanding of where May will take us when she inevitably wins... sadly for democracy she seems committed to saying absolutely nothing despite her sudden desperate need for a mandate.

Yeah I'm really not a fan of this government under May at all, yet they're going to win with a bigger majority than before, simply because there's no credible opposition. The Labour "policy" so far is just laughably ridiculous, might as well read as: spend more on everything (including nukes that we aren't going to use), tax everyone less unless you earn a million quid in which case we'll tax you 100% you filthy rich fuck.

Meanwhile, the EU/Tory negotiations are going to end up with fisticuffs. I think it'll just end up with the UK telling the EU to fuck off over the "divorce bill" and everything else going to hell for a while.

There is some interest to be had from Scotland and Northern Ireland, who may both be in a position to fuck off afterwards; NI perhaps to merge back to Ireland and Scotland to be applying for EU membership. Other than that, this should be the easiest election ever for the Conservatives to win.

I'm kinda waiting on the Lib Dem manifesto, though I think they might still make less gains than expected as a lot still hate them for forming a coalition with Cameron, despite that government being one of sanity compared to much else in recent times. Though Farron also just wants to be the opposition anyway.

If ever there was a need for proper PR, and some new parties, or just getting rid of parties all together, it's now.

That's she's still a frontbencher is the biggest indicator that Corbyn isn't up to a leadership job.

Her, McDonell and Thornberry. Three incompetent blithering idiots in pivotal positions. If it was a football match you'd be sure there was some betting scam going on.

Some brief research indicates that for a 0.50 cal bullet you'd need at least 2 copies of War and Peace (as long as they were printed on 70GSM paper) depending on the type of ammunition used. Or possibly 3 watermelons. Although adding a fridge into the equation with the melons seems to change the outcome - possibly different ammo though.

Sounds similar to the research I was doing. Apparently a brick wall won't stop a bullet, but two bricks will. So will 7 inches of sand. A microwave won't, but an oven will.

I'm still wondering where an American dumb enough to take a bullet from 30cm got an encyclopaedia from. They don't strike me as the sort that would have that in the house. (Unless of course it was acquired purely for gun related defence purposes)

Unclear. I'm assuming dry, this man's cardboard box full of sand doesn't look wet.
