"This is the greatest feeling in professional sports," (Plaxico Burress) said before breaking down in tears.

"For us to come out here and win a world championship tonight - nobody gave us a shot."

Those ice hockey fights are mental - just watch these two psychos go at each other:

Contrast what RTT showed you with what I'm about to show you... I know what happens more often...

... and of course the KO compilation (with its very apt backing tune)

I love those USA vs USSR/East Germany fights! They were always at it! :D

Christ I love the NHL!!! Bruins FTW!!! :D

Strikes me it's very like WWF...I was watching a punchup the other day and the two guys were just punching each others chest pads and helmets? Who the fuck would do that in a real fight?

The best fight at the Blackburn Hawks game on Sunday was in the stands... Two players had kicked off on the ice, then we heard a noise behind us, turned round and two blokes were scrapping on the floor. Apparently one was the Newcastle coach, the other was the dad of one of the players...

The atmosphere was pretty good up in the bar area, after a few pints we joined in shouting abuse at the Newcastle goalie - he lost his head for a while as a result, and then made a prat of himself with his celebrations of Newcastle's second goal - he'd conceded 11 by the time it went in... After that he calmed down though...

I love watching fighting but i cant help but think it would be better if they didnt have padding? I would much rather have a someone body check me in ice hockey than have dellaglio run at me at full pelt....
