 Poke a knife in and prise it out ;)

I don't quite get the knife thing. How do you get electrocuted if the toaster is off?

My old toaster commited suicide when I got a shock off it just from switching it off. Apparently the plug sockets in our kitchen had been wired in by a blind elderly wombat or something.

This is probably not the sort of thing to admit to... but I once got a shock from sticking a knife in the toaster while it was on... the really stupid bit was the butter was cold and I was warming the knife to make spreading easier.

While i was training to be a spark my tutor showed me this vid and merely explained that this was not a good idea. Neither is shoving a knife into a toaster

I was doing this over Christmas and got the exact same shock. Now I just hold it over the toaster for a bit :D

No. It's about the water lighting up blue while you boil it like my cheap Tesco one :D
