Don't you tend to put bread down, expecting toast to pop up?

Not in Gibbon's house. Toast must be retoasted. Over and over. Till it's dead.

Who the hell puts bread in a toaster? You need a breader.

On the subject of toasters when I first met the wife, in their house, they used to grill toast and peel spuds with a knife :o

I soon introduced them to fire and the wheel and eventually after 10 years I managed to get their parents to buy a toaster but they still peel spuds with a knife (why turn a 3" spud into a 1" spud with a knife??) and have the same ancient 22" 4:3 TV

Her father is still using a hand me down Pentium 3 processor PC. It takes 1 hour to do what even a fairly old PC can do in seconds

Aye, might be worth counting her fingers, just to double check... ;-)

Previously brilliant toaster died today. The support tray that the toast sits on popped out of it's runners and bent as I pulled it up to get a crumpet out - ripping it's way through the elements.

So I've done some research and ordered this. I would have ordered the old one again, but we need an extra slot now there are three toast eaters in the family.

It's got a bagel setting so you can toast only one side of the bread, which is how I like sandwiches. (Crunchy toasted side on the inside, mmmmmmmmm)

Will keep the Roverstalk toaster community appraised.
