Yeah, but they're giving me free money.

Well yes. Good point.

Wait until they sell your authorised overdraft to a debt collection agency without warning. :yeahright:

I don't plan to use the overdraft as I won't get the £5 per month. Still got my other account for spending money.

Still, thanks for the concern. I did think the more immediate problem in my little tale was Orange threatening to cut me off for owing them nothing, though... :yeahright:

Does anyone know if, when you buy a bundle of texts on your contract, you pay for them in advance or at the end of the month? I've been moved onto a different plan whilst I was away on holiday (not sure how that's happened, but it's cheaper with more perks, so I'm not complaining). I now supposedly have unlimited texts whereas before I paid for a monthly allowance. However, on my first bill under the new plan, I've still been charged for the text bundle. It says on the bill it's for 12th October to 12th November. But when I rang the 'helpline' last night, the rude bitch on the other end was adamant it was a charge for the previous month up to October 12th.

I think she was just lying to me to fob me off, and I've been overcharged.

What sane business would charge you at the end of a period if they can charge you at the start? Perhaps some kind of engineering business :yeahright:

Yeah, I'm sure when I signed up for it, they didn't backdate it to cover texts I'd already sent. However, I don't think there's much I can do other than ring up again and hope I get someone else who will actually listen. It's not worth sending a letter of complaint for £1.70 unless the charge is still there on next month's bill.

I'd be surprised if they charged you in the end - my only experience with bundles was back on PAYG, but it was definitely pay first then get the texts. The overseas package that I was offered on contract was the same deal, can't use until the charge is on your account.

Mind you - when I worked for Telewest they charged both... half a month in arrears and half a month up front. because they're weird.

If you're using their mobile data, you occasionally get a holding page with a few ads on and a 3 second countdown before you can continue to whatever site you were going on. It only affects browsers, apps use the data all the time with no issues, and obviously doesn't happen on wifi. I see it maybe twice a week.

Basically, I get 150 mins, 250 texts, and 500Mb data complately free every month. It costs £15 initially, but that £15 then sits in your Ovivo account, so if you do ever go over the allowances, they just knock the price of each additional minute/text off the £15. It's not even a ridiculous price if you go over.

I've been using it since June and been completely fine, plenty of minutes, plenty of texts, and I use Wifi where I can anyway so haven't been near the data limit either

Sounds suspiciously like a charge to me.....
