Re: The US sports thread
How fickle the finger of fate can be to one sporting city.
Houston wins the World Series of baseball (yes I agree it’s a stupid title for what is an AMERICAN league) one night and the next they lose their incredibly impressive rookie QB DeSean Watson to a torn ACL in practice. Another none contact injury.
I was totally enjoying watching him play this season, never been a more impressive rookie season and that includes Peyton Manning. What he was doing was record breaking.

Annoying if you'd just got him on a waiver

Re: The US sports thread
Awesome scraped win there on my NE bye week. It's all downhill from here!

So, so, SO gutted about that. I was literally going to switch out Golden Tate for Marvin Jones after the Sunday games but didn’t pull the trigger. Then again a few more rushing yards or reception yards would have done it also. So close.
Re: The US sports thread
Shit happens. If I'd glanced at things I'd have known about Fournette getting himself in trouble and got someone else in for the game. Bottom line: I win

You got yourselves into this mess by choosing to like another sport with ‘football’ in the name.

Re: The US sports thread
Two weeks in a row I’ve benched a player whose then had a career day. First T. Y. Hilton and now Mark Ingram. If I lose this matchup I’ve only got myself to blame. Jesus

There is a possibility that Carolina massacre Miami tonight... but I think you're pretty safe.
My running backs are absolutely woeful.

Me putting a running back in is clearly the kiss of death for their game.

Yeah, but his bench probably beat my team on it's own. Even if I'd made the right subs if he had, he'd have won.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever had a FF performance like that!
Never had so many points from a defense or a kicker. Remarkable!
