FA Cup - Third Round: Blackburn Rovers V Hull City SAT 06 Jan 2018, 3pm
Team news:
Leutwiler, Nyambe, Tomlinson, Nuttall and Samuel all come in.
Looks a decent side to me, barring the lack of Smallwood in favour of Evans.

I think we have a really good chance to advance.
Two good chances early; Caddis hits the bar. Keep firing away.

Travis on for Evans (injury), 43'

Evans off injured so our midfield is now Tomlinson and Travis. Good experience for both playing against a Chmapionship side (albiet a very out of form one).

Signing Jason Lowe doesn't sound so ridiculous now.
Kind of expected the score not to go in our favor. Still 10 minutes left.

The amount of goals we are shipping to corners is obscene. Somebody needs to get the guys together and working better at defending them even if it means 11 men behind the ball.

Well, they gave it a good effort. Rovers can focus on promotion now.

Nuttall not good enough I’m afraid. You look at him physically and you expect him to dominate centre half’s. He is so light weight though it’s untrue. The minute Graham and Dack came on we looked so much better.
Anyway...win next weekend and all will be forgiven!

One of the last kicks of the game saw a Rovers shot on goal hit a Hull defenders arm. Thankfully a penalty was not given thus avoiding a draw. Now at least we can get on with something we might actually succeed at. Shrewsbury next week and that is the most important game of the season so far.

Highlights
and match report up on BBC Sport if you feel the need to see us concede a poor goal.
(and no, it's not embeddable for you guys in America, sorry...)
A poor goal to concede and disappointing to lose a game, but a draw and replay would have been worse. He gave a few key players a rest and hopefully they'll be fit and healthy for the next massive game.

It is interesting to see that both Wigan an Shrewsbury drew their games against premier league oposition. Peterboro won their game at Villa. You get the feeling Rovers would have stood a good chance of beating Hull if the game would have been taken more seriously. Overall a good advert for the quality of league one football.

I think it was smart to go out of the FA Cup. I do like the extra experience it brings to fringe players, but really don't have a lot of depth to do that.
