I was surprised to see Jason Lowe linked with a return to Rovers. It was also reported on BBC Radio Lancashire so there is either no news today or there is some substance in the story. It is difficult to see what Lowe would bring to the squad besides which Rovers do not have any vacancies for once promising failures. Speaking of which how are Henley, Guthrie and Akpan doing...

I thought Adam Henley was treated somewhat harshly - only a kid he played some good games for Rovers. He's been out of work since leaving Ewood and he doesn't deserve that.

I would welcome Armstrong as having extra goals and pace is something we lack right now. I don't know how I feel about Jason Lowe coming back. He has played here a long time, with the right midfielder partnering, I think he can be decent. And saying we need a workhorse in midfield, he wouldn't be terrible addition.

However, I do think we need a creative midfielder and a left midfielder to really tie things together.

News is Henley might be on his way to the MLS with Real Salt Lake. Good luck to him and if it was not for his injury issues he might have progressed his career with Rovers.

I am sure he will do well in the MLS. The one thing the league lacks is decent full backs, and I would consider him decent. I think he will be a standout compared to the talent that comes out of American universities.

I'm always genuinely intrigued to read others' positive comments about Henley. I thought he was absolute rubbish and couldn't understand why he kept getting in the team. He looked scared to put a tackle in most of the time.

Speaking of full backs, Rovers have resubmitted a bid for Amari'i Bell from Fleetwood Town.

It is refreshing to see Rovers splash the cash down here. With the market in the Championship and Premier League, throwing in a 200,000 bid is pretty cheap relatively, and seems the market hasn't really adapted to the lower leagues thankfully.

And Mowbray keeps saying Rovers have cash to use, so it should be interesting who else he is targeting.

Good to have Alan Armstrong on board. I was hoping he would help stretch ;) the unbeaten run but the FA Cup defeat scuppered that. Lets hope he can help stretch ;) the league unbeaten run. Not to be outdone though Shrewsbury have made a signing too...from Burnley :paranoid:
