Blackburn Rovers v Millwall, Sat 11 August 2018, KO 15:00

Discuss all things Rovers related except...

If Millwall's walls were not made out of mills, what would it be made out of?

Figure I will try to create these threads on the day after a match (or if it's weekday match a little earlier).

This is an interesting home opener, & one that could certainly cause us trouble. Harris is a good football man, & has some good talent assembled. 8th in the Championship was a solid finish, & they could be poised for even better.

I hope there’s a big, raucous crowd at Ewood, & Armstrong is in the 11.

Not the day after the match that they are about I'm assuming?

Also, impressive level of agreement on the poll so far. I think we may be entering the early stages of evolution into a hive mind.

I prefer to go with the "stay a step behind" strategy.

Palmer and Bell get the start today, with Armstrong on the bench. Otherwise, same suspects in the lineup. Hopefully we will get to see Rothwell or Travis come on for Evans.

So what's that?

Yep, except no Williams.

I would expect a Christmas tree like formation soon, where we have 3 central midfielders, 2 of them protecting the wings, 2 Attacking midfielders, and a striker up top.

Really not doing well with possession in the first 10 minutes.

Full time. Was hoping for a win, but a draw feels a bit like a loss now. Started off slow, then started to really come around. Possession was weak at times, and so was the passing. Evans had a moment to basically tell me off but then he proved to me that he is about as average as it gets.

Rothwell had a great debut, first shot was a solid one, on target and well placed. Palmer's first start was solid, definitely showed his skill and attributes. Armstrong came on and brought that dynamic level we expect from him. Travis came on and was basically there to harass, and he did.

Overall, defense did well. Bell starting this time around didn't make much of a difference but didn't make any mistakes.

Graham, beside one shot, got shut down for the majority of the match. Pretty much lost over half of the long balls launched to him, had a couple moments. Other than that, was rather unnoticeable.
