Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Am I the only person who thinks replacing mulgrew with Hanley is a sideways step at best? Hanley is better defensively in my opinion, particularly in the air which was a major weakness for us all of last season and particularly for Mulgrew. His ability with the ball to play from the back and goals/...

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Yeah would be a good signing having Hanley back, probably preferable over Bauer as Hanley is has a lot more experience at this level and they're similar in age.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Woodgate appointed by Middlesbrough apparently could have an impact on Downing with him then getting a new deal which does make sense. not particularly bothered either way if we do or don't sign him. To add to our list of experienced midfielders we're being linked with is James Morrison who is now a...

Re: Bradley Dack

If it's only genuine interest and bids from rival Championship sides then I'd like to think he would probably stay. If a Prem side comes along offer us a big sum of money and him a big pay bump then good luck to him not sure there's a lot we can do about that.

Along with Downing now sounds like there's also interest in Whelan having been released by Villa.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Conway leaving to then be replaced by another aging winger in Downing who has never played for us would seem like a stupid idea. Appreciate Conway turned down our contract offer but would Downing really be coming in, on reasonable wages, to not be a starter?

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Yeah I heard something, not sure how true, that Mel Morris was pumping in a fairly significant amount of money each money to keep the wheels turning this season at Derby. Got a lot of time for Frank Lampard but I think, unsurprisingly, it's been over egged this season. They've achieved essentially w...

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Losing a playoff final is a rough one, especially in injury time. Secretly pleased as it's an easy away game for me next season in London as well as Luton coming up.

But yeah think you're right some of their players may want to stick around for next season now in the Cha.pionship.

Bauer just promoted Charlton in the last seconds of the game. Perhaps he'll be staying.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Vardy is probably the shining most recent example of a player moving from Non-League straight to the Championship. It's lower risk financially but possibly a higher risk of them not cutting the mustard.

Re: TV shows that are ace

Internet hysteria to one side both season 7 and season 8 have been pretty poor considering seasons 1 to 6. It seem pretty evident that with no books to follow anymore the writers struggled to maintain the level of plot development. I don't have a particular issue with the ending or particular elemen...
