Re: New Manager poll - select your top three choices
I agree Simon. Although sometimes it also works... might just be pure chance though. Football success is the culmination of so many random factors that no amount of McTeething makes something instantly successful (not a criticism, we all want to logic the hell out of it). The only real plan that wor...

Re: New Manager poll - select your top three choices
I feel like you aren't being reductionist enough ;) You make lots of lovely arguments but they can all be argued from another point of view. What's more, you are assuming that people do the things that make sense and follow on from the things they have said. I'm much more sanguine about the inevitab...

Re: New Manager poll - select your top three choices
What, a manager who wants to do something different? HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN AT A FOOTBALL CLUB! Seriously?
As I said, wouldn't shock me if we did pay for someone. Neither would it shock me if we employed someone that nobody has ever heard of from Iceland.

Re: New Manager poll - select your top three choices
I don't agree - he's a perfectly good option for a club in our position based just on his management history. He'd do an absolutely acceptable job I'm sure. So not really a simple point, just opinion like so much else.

Re: New Manager poll - select your top three choices
I think you're trying to find too much logical clarity in an inevitably flawed and pseudorandom process.

Re: New Manager poll - select your top three choices
No no, more of the same in terms of stability and ultimate achievement. I think we'd likely stay exactly where we are in the table with him. He's a good manager with plenty of experience, a good history of working with younger players and manages to keep a ship stable - that's my idea of more of the...

Re: New Manager poll - select your top three choices
In case anyone wonders, it was me that said Mick McCarthy (plus some others). I don't actually want him as our manager really, I just think he's a lovely bloke and so deserves a vote regardless. Ainsworth for more of the same which would be no bad thing, Bielsa for a risk at either moving forward or...

Re: Rovers v Bournemouth
It's a bit awks given you may also have players on contracts on PL wages but without the income any more - and players don't want to sign a contract that cuts their wages if the club goes down, why would they. I agree totally that the payments are broken - it needs a better solution to the whole app...

Re: Rovers v Bournemouth
It is more competitive and with something to actually play for. If you can let go of the inherent sense of entitlement to success all football fans have, it's got to be better than just competing to not be in the bottom three each year.
But maybe I'm just saying that to mitigate the pain.
