Re: Obituaries...

R.I.P Anthoine Hubert. 22 is no age to die. I’ve followed his career for two years now and he was supremely talented. Certainly a future Formula 2 champion. I watched it unfold live on TV and I knew when I saw it, and where it happened on the truck, that it was going to be a bad one. That horrible p...

Exactly why people want Johnson to be removed.
Needless to say it didn’t work out well for the last guy to do this... the parallels with 1930’s Germany are clear to see too. These are very worrying times.

Re: Friendly: Bury/Blackburn

I agree, this does tend to happen but if you ask any Bolton or Bury fans whether they’d trade the 130 odd year history, FA cup wins, league wins, highs and lows for a clean slate and a new start... most of them would tell you to do one. I feel utterly gutted for both clubs. I never thought the day w...

Re: The Bolton chaos

RTT... it may still be Rovers if Venkys cut the cord and try to sell. The era of the plucky small-town club is nearly at an end I fear. We aren’t going to be self sufficient on the crowd levels alone, just as Bolton aren’t.

Re: Friendly: Bury/Blackburn

My personal thoughts, and I know I’ll get torn to bits for this in forensic detail, is that a small portion of every transfer should be held in a fund by the FA to rescue clubs from going completely bust. There would be checks and balances in place to prevent abuse of the system but ideally it would...

Re: Cycling

Yeah agreed, I do feel for Alaphillipe losing it that way but he likely would have lost more time on the final climb given how wide open the race was. He was catching on the descent but 2 minutes is a lot of time to make up and then head up another 1st category 7% climb after it. I think he would ha...

Re: Cycling

Take a bow Egan Bernal. This kid has been rising fast, who knows how high his ceiling could be! To be so young and so talented. He wasn’t even supposed to ride the Tour, he was supposed to be the leader for the Giro but injury/illness prevented that. Just see how much it means to him. Chapeau young ...

Re: TV shows that are ace

I’m already over GoT... hurray for Chernobyl! Utterly horrifying, grim and scary but gripping television and incredibly well made. I’d strongly recommend it. It’s currently sat above GoT and Breaking Bad as the highest rated TV show of all time.

Re: Retained list.

So next season we're lining up as -------------Leutwiler------------ Part of the deal is to clone him so we’ve got a team full of Leutwilers! Silliness aside, I wasn’t at all impressed by him at the tail end of last season. He’s not bad but he’s done nothing to say he deserves to replace Ra...

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Maybe. I will tell you a player I want us to go for though. John Marquis from Doncaster. He’s a big, strong, skilled target man. Like a younger Danny Graham. His goal scoring record the last few seasons has been incredible and I think we rely on a target man so much to get the most out of Dack, Arms...

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

There's no really substance to this other than asking the question, would you take back Junior Hoilett if he became available? No, the kid was one of the best talents I’ve seen on the Ewood pitch back in the day. But that was a while ago and his lack of loyalty and desire for a payday means he woul...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Magic Majid... for the annoyance of racists everywhere. Although I'm a little behind the times - I assumed that the 6 month delay rather than a year was specifically to avoid EU elections. Agree, this guy is an absolute star! I think he’s pretty much single-handedly made politics interesting and da...
