Re: Blackburn Rovers v Middlesbrough, Sat 17 Aug 2019, KO 15:00

Unless Downing cuts himself in two I'm sure you meant Armstrong on the right. Apart from the goal, I'm not sure that Downing has done enough- wouldn't be surprised if Rothwell gets the shout. The defence and midfield almost picks themselves these days. Will be interesting to see if Travis does the 9...

Re: Carabao Cup: Blackburn Rovers v Oldham, Tue 13 Aug 2019, KO 19:45

I rather think the old firm of Smallwood and Evans might get a start alongside some of the youngsters. I agree with the comments re Chapman, he was a revelation when coming on last season. With him on the left,Armstrong on the right, Dack and Rothwell in the middle we should have enough firepower to...

Re: Fulham v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 10 Aug 2019, KO 15:00

Travis was taken off in the second half against Fulham, as indeed he was against Charlton. In the Charlton match he seemed dead on his feet when he came off, I wonder if he is carrying an injury or if there is a stamina problem.

Re: Fulham v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 10 Aug 2019, KO 15:00

I think it's desperately disappointing that now Lenihan is injured, Platt, Grayson and Buckley aren't considered as replacements . In other words, Wiiliams is the best we've got. Lenihan as we know is injury prone, yet the centre half problem has not been resolved. Arguably with the disappearance of...

Re: Fulham v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 10 Aug 2019, KO 15:00

Mowbray rarely brings on his new talent from the first whistle, so I'd go with Bell to start with Cunningham later. I also think Danny might get the call over Gallagher and Nyambe/Bennet is anyone's guess. One thing is certain - with Reed and Cairney, Fulham have an excellent midfield, but there aga...

Re: Fulham v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 10 Aug 2019, KO 15:00

After Fulham received £15 million for sosseluengo or whatever he's called there was no way Rovers were going to win the pissing competition for Harrison Reed. How times have changed. Surprised that we've released two centre halves - Magloire and Mulgrew - Mowbray must be very confident about Buckley...

Agree re Harrison Reed - one of Rovers' best performers last season.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Charlton Athletic, Sat 3 Aug 2019, KO 15:00

This might sound like heresy, but I think we'v e been deluding ourselves. Rovers' defensive problem is that we have TWO mediocre centre halves. Charlie bless him is over the top while Lenihan, great at heading away incoming centres, does little else. We seem incapable of stopping the opposition from ...

Re: 2019/2020 season

No number 5, I'm guessing Lenihan was offered it and turned it down, shame. Or is there another arrival in the offing?

Unfortunately I wouldn't put money on Evans not starting in centre midfield.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

I would sooner have kept Nuttall and released Samuel-it would never surprise me if Joe improved a lot over the next couple of years. As for new signings, I'd like someone who can play rb or lb. Preferably someone a bit over the top for the top flight. Salgado oh oh , he played for Real Madrid, didn'...

Just that I was so impressed with Reed last year. To my mind Travis and Reed are the ideal centre midfield.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Charlton Athletic, Sat 3 Aug 2019, KO 15:00

With Samuel, Nuttall, Graham, Gallagher and Brereton we have five recognised centre forwards. In retrospect I think we'd have been better off signing Harrison Reed than Gallagher.
