Re: Blackburn Rovers v Sheffield Wednesday, Sat 2 Nov 2019, KO 15:00(?)

Deserved win, Sheffield got a lucky goal late, Tosin and Buckley did fantastic. Usual late chances conceded, great save by Walton to keep the points. Its the sort of performance that we ought to produce each week, comfortably top half quality if we could see out games.

Re: Preston North End v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 26 Oct 2019, KO 15:00

Not sure I agree with RTT on Rover's resources, £12 mil on strikers and presumably Downing, Johnson and Holtby are on fairly large wages, its been about allocation of funding leaving us short defensively (I don't personally pine for Mulgrew's defensive errors even if we miss his leadership and goals...

Re: Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers, Tue, 22 Oct 2019, KO 19:45

I agree regarding Gallagher, was a fan of the signing at the time and was a rare bright spot in the relegation season, but he has definitely looked like a player with minimal/poor gametime in the last two years. He's still young and has the physical attributes to mold into a target man. I have a sim...

Re: Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers, Tue, 22 Oct 2019, KO 19:45

It's been a disappointing run and I can't say I've seen much evidence of this "new style" ever since Lenihan booted the ball up the pitch from kickoff against Charlton. Mowbray was the right man to take over when he did, he nearly saved us, had a good season in league one and last season was respect...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Huddersfield Town, Sat 19 Oct 2019, KO 12:30

Draw probably a fair result, soft penalty ruined an otherwise excellent first half, shame we didn't capitalise more. Usual second half drop off let Huddersfield get back in the game.

Johnson, Travis, Holtby and Dack look like a great four to build the midfield around

Re: Vilius Piliukaitis

Does anyone know what happened to him? Seems to have had a decent season with the under 18s (12 games 4 goals 4 assists) but no sight of him anywhere on the club website.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Perhaps, but certainly doesn't have Rodwell's reputation and baggage, plus to be fair to him, Rodwell did show his class at times and I was in favour of offering a new deal had he wanted to stay.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

I expect he'll be the first alternate to the midfield duo of Travis and Johnson, takes some pressure off Buckley in the short term. Has top tier and international experience, still young enough and on a free. Evans and Smallwood should definitely be moved on in Jan.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Always been a fan of Holtby, very tidy midfielder and on a free worth a shot. However, would definitely require Smallwood and likely Evans to go in Jan, or Buckley and some of the other young CMs would miss rotational game time (not accounting for loans). Wouldn't class him as competition for Rothwe...

Re: 2019/2020 season

Idea was discussed in the transfer thread but with the international break thought might revive it here. I am quite taken by the suggestion of playing three at the back and two up top, and squad wise we do actually have the players to fit the sheff utd overlapping CB system, with nyambe and Williams...
