Re: Duggy and Stars owd codgers corner

Yep, I'm in my forties. Went occasionally to matches as a kid but then had a season ticket in the Riverside throughout my teens before moving away at 18. Since then only get to odd matches. Fab to have enjoyed some top flight seasons recently. Would never have thought it back then! Which makes what ...

Re: Duggy and Stars owd codgers corner

Good to remember some old names. I started watching when the likes of Rathbone, Fazackerley, Brotherston, Parkes, Keeley, Garner, Arnold were playing and then Miller, Barker, Patterson, Quinn, Gennoe. So not been a Rover as long as you, Duggy, but count myself an owd codger compared to most on here....

Re: Rovers vs Bristol City (FA Cup), Sat 5th Jan, 15:00

Who shall we blame this time? :hyper: Blame my mother.....for telling everyone around her at the Riverside on New Year's Day to stop swearing :D She's spoiled their fun?!! It is a shame attendance was so low. Money may well be an issue but I was amazed how cheap it is... for a family of four, 2 adu...

Re: Boro v Rovers - Boxing Day 3pm

To be honest, I was relatively satisfied in the first half. We seemed slow and let too much too quickly through the midfield but definitely were as good as Boro if not better. It is so disappointing to keep losing and though I understand some of the fans booing at full time, it is sad to hear and ha...

Re: New Manager

I just hope this 'sack at all costs' approach that some fans have taken to heart doesn't come home to roost. The same expectation applies. If you join the club and don't get us automatic promotion, you're no better than Kean was. (Coming home to roost??? Is that intended as a Venky pun?) Kean would...

"Spirited organised and athletic" is how Kean describes our performance yesterday.
I wonder whether Kean realises this spirited, organised and athletic performance left the fans feeling discouraged, flat and nervous about the season ahead?

Re: Waste of time GB team & Olympic football thread

Olympic football a waste of time? I don't think so. Was at St. James Park yesterday with the whole family for the Mexico v South Korea and the Switzerland v Gabon matches. Great day out. Lots of fun. OK football (well second match was) and atmosphere was .... well.... happy! Surrounded by Mexicans -...

Re: Rovers 5-0 Burnley

I've looked and looked but can't find any footage :( Does anyone know where I can view and hopefully add to my facebook footage of the game? I want to celebrate Matt Jansen :D Talking of Facebook... saw this today. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/599848_259122100859758_15709781_n.jpg

Re: The Steve Kean thread

So so quiet on this forum. Is there no news in Blackburn? I feel a bit out of it up here but it seems there is nothing happening? Any key things to report? I see Rednapp has left Spurs. Still occasionally google 'Steve Kean' in the hope that he has left Rovers. Why do I do that? Has n...

Re: The Steve Kean thread

First time since we were relegated that I've come home from work and not googled 'Steve Kean news' (hoping he'd been sacked) and finally there is some communication! But then again, not a lot. The thing that stands out to me from the interview is "Right now we are totally in shock". Eh? Shock? The f...
