Re: Brexit....or in.

Don’t economic failures regularly benefit the wealthy if they’re prepared for them? They step in and hoover up depressed stocks.

Who knows cause I don't have an FT subscription. I can't imagine them being keen on publically broadcasting any pros or cons on shorting the pound in an environment of manipulation though.....
The subscription for that is free (or the cost of a free membership, i.e. your data.)

For something written in 1997, some of this seems awfully close to the bone. The Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia

Re: Brexit....or in.

Interesting. Though it amuses me that it’s not a verified account and could well be some bored 14 year old winding up all the genuine players. :D

I think the hydrophobic trend has come with more people camping on snow for things like backcountry skiing etc. Hike out to a high mountain, camp, hike to the top, camp, ski down etc.
The guy whose brain I picked does exactly that, albeit snowboarding rather than skiing.

If France veto an extension, then we should cancel article 50 and then hold a second referendum.

Re: General Election

FFS! Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell wants an election "as soon as we possibly can" - once the threat of a no-deal Brexit has been removed - but ruled out making any deals with the SNP: " If we are in a minority, we will be a minority government, we won't do coalitions. " They seem to be try...

Re: General Election

 It all depends on electorial promises. I'm inclined to vote Green at the moment, based purely on current form, but i'm betting I'll either vote Liberal or Labour when it comes to the crunch.

Voting intention as per YouGov. Interesting to see that Labour are rising at the expense of Lib Dem with an actual GE looming.
I’m put off from voting liberal because at the moment the party seems to be filling up with Tory rebels.

Re: General Election

I think that projection will change drastically once parties announce their official brexit intentions. Does that mean you expect some drastic change from where they stand on Brexit currently? I don’t think anyone really knows exactly what position Labour will adopt anymore. It changes with the win...

My guess is another hung parliament.
My guess is either a lib/lab coalition or in the unlikely event that the protest vote swings far enough away from the big two, a mash-up of all the pro-remain parties.

Re: General Election

Sorry mate, that's nonsense. A short delay to ensure that choices cannot be limited in the long term to allow for the country to have all options available when they are given a chance to vote is clearly better than rushing to try and give them a voice and thereby allow a serial liar the chance to ...
