Maybe Joe meant 'anything you can do,' (i.e. post a youtube video of a cool goal) 'he can do better.' (i.e. post a youtube video of a (in his opinion) superior goal)

I'm not really sure what's so special about that particular Messi goal, the goalie is out of position and still setting his wall up, effectively it's floating a standard set piece into an unguarded net? Whereas the Ronaldo one is outrageous, not just because it came off, but also because he had the arrogance to try it. So anything Ronaldo can do, Messi can do something different that isn't as impressive but has the same outcome.
