Had to be Kestrels in barns, Barnsley was where the film "Kes" was set, (for people of a certain age!)

Arma starting apparently as his fitness is now up.Thorisgodpoo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 8:26 pmAnother match, another who is Mowbray going to surprise us with.
Hopefully Travis is okay from whatever the issue was on Saturday. A midfield without Travis or Evans becomes a bit more of a headache.

I just read Tony’s comments in the Telegraph, re: Sam G. Apparently, the only thing separating SG from immortality is he is not selfish enough. He’s already got the work ethic and the motor. I am so relieved by this news. So, I guess we see the hat-trick today...IF Sammo can just be a bit more selfish!
We should expect a resounding win today. Sadly, I’m not expecting it. What I’m looking forward to seeing is how Rovers respond in the next four games vs. all promotion contenders.

I've always found Barnsley strange this season, they're like Norwich in the Premier League. A side that plays really nice football, can score goals but doesn't win very often.
They've seemed to be harder to beat since Struber took over but are bottom of the league despite making a good start back after lockdown. Sounds like a cliche but there aren't easy games in the Championship at all, especially when you're playing a side desperately trying to get out of relegation.
Not really sure what to expect but hopefully we will be more effective than we were against Wigan. Although if we're without Travis and Evans that is a fairly disastrous. May see Smallwood come in to partner Johnson or possibly Johnson paired with Davenport and/or Downing.

Wouldn't mind seeing Davenport start instead of Rothwell. He has been massively unimpressive the last match. Hopefully Travis is good to go.
Would like to see Arma instead of Gallagher on the right. Brereton starting again would be great, as I don't see how Samuel is anyway effective. Maybe see JRC back out left instead of Bennett.

Yes hopefully Travis is fine for tonight then happy to seem him partnered with Davenport or Johnson.
I found Rothwell's use as a deeper lying midfield at Wigan completely baffling and ineffective. He was moved further forward in the second half but again to little effect as Wigan just sat with XI behind the ball in their own half.
Brereton has looked good so think he should keep his place. Agreed on Samuel as think he was somewhat at fault for Wigan's first goal as was Walton for not tracking his runner who got the cross in that led to the goal.

There it is... no Lenihan OR Travis.
Adequate opportunity for Tony to prove his genius today.

Not a line up that inspires a huge amount of confidence.
Few too many squares pegs in round holes. Lots of attack minded players on the pitch but in an odd formation. Worried we don't have anyone ball winners on the pitch aside from Johnson.
Happy to be proved wrong but we've not started well.

Agreed, mcteeth. I am hoping our lads will show me up as a big poop today, we will see...

Appreciate it's enforced through injury but so many changes to the spine of the team with your goalkeeper also not in great form doesn't bode well.

Thor, duggy, mcteeth, anybody, I would like to hear your take on 0-0 HT.
Just comments I have read, Mulgrew was losing early, but got it together. Samuel looks to be making up for lost time... then he misses his great chance.

Awful first 15 minutes. Better last 30. Unlucky not to be leading.
Mulgrew looking better than expected. Samuel very frustrating.

Should be winning and now losing to a poor goal.
