De ja vu. We do a lot of good, have a lot of the ball but lack a cutting edge. Newcastle counter once and score a very clinical goal.

Mowbray’s “possession football” mixed results. 62% possession, only 3 shots, none on goal. And, as you say, we’re behind. But, it’s possible that’s what has kept us close today.

Some context Newcastle sit 10 behind the ball in their own half which is a little embarrassing.

Out of the cup, full time 0-1 Newcastle win. Not too angry about the scoreline, stat line really showed Rovers dominated the match, especially near the end. Williams not putting any of the 3 chances he had away is not good.

Overall rather positive, Travis went off in extra time, hopefully nothing long term. Really need him at full strength this whole campaign. Brereton sounded positive and good. Dolan sounded like he was an absolute menace.

That would be a major problem.

Not really had much luck for quite a while now.

Good grief. If not for bad luck, Rovers have no luck at all, it seems.

Davenport and Buckley will have to step up then, might see more of JRC as a CM as well.

Yeah. If he is out for a while would need Johnson and Evans to really form a solid partnership. Both good players. Or as you say Davenport really needing to step up.

Evans is still out. The season is just starting, but our 11 tomorrow is likely to have a definite youngish look to it.
