My god, that was the Elephant Man of winning ugly. I dare Allardyce to come out after that and say with a straight face that we don't play long ball. We gifted way too much possession to Birmingham, fortunately they had no cutting edge. The defenders did well, but only Dunn and the two subs deserve any credit out the players playing further upfield. And Failureson's only meaningful contribution was to make sure Dunn limped off. :(

bbc wrote:Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce:

"I'm proud to say we are in the top four of the Premier League with home results.

"It's been a great performance. David Dunn turned the game in our favour and it was a shame he was denied a hat-trick - there was nothing wrong with that goal that was ruled out in the first-half.

"We must remember we have some terrific young players who have made massive contributions. Steven N'Zonzi is my player of the season. He's played every Premier League match. He is a major find."

really?

according to the table we've won 9 times and drawn 5 at home = 32 points.

above us are:
Man Utd = 14 wins, 1draw = 43 points
Chelsea = 13 wins, 1 draw = 40 points
Arsenal = 13 wins, 1 draw = 40 points
Liverpool = 11 wins, 2 draws = 35 points

Spurs have the same as us with = 10 wins, 2 draws = 32 points.
Everton have the same as us with = 9 wins, 5 draws = 32 points.

Do you reckon Sam thinks equal 5th is in fact 4th? Maybe he needs maths lessons. Edit : neatly summed up here.

I saw him refer to Aston Villa as one of the 'big teams' earlier in the week too.

Maybe he has a heavy drinking session before every interview?

38 points and Rovers are safe i'm sure. The priority now is secure a high as possible place in the PL so there is more funding available to strengthen the squad. I predict a Rovers win this weekend against the dingles. Can't wait for that one. Well done tonight lads.

boring game, good result

Good old david dunn, got to love the guy drives the team on. wonder what he would be like as captain. Phil jones seems to be adjusting perfectly and quickly. We still play awful football at times but when we put our foot on the gas we look good like the side we was. No more long balls klanic is hopelessly isolated on his own.

Its embarrassing for him to come out with a stat to the national press that is completely unfounded, yes.

He's still buzzin from the win, for all the shit he's been through and the flack he gets, he's clearly happy and proud of what he's achieved in keeping us up as well as keeping the good home form going, i think its embarassing to actually be arsed to look into checking up that his claim was true but if thats what a minority want to do thats fine. ;)

Now we can start lookin towards getting as high in the league as we can in the remaining games without the pressure of having to look over our shoulders.

Im not suggesting/referring that we do any different, of course its progress and a good win, but to spout rubbish that isn't true, is elementary.

You don't have to look very far to realise the guy talks bollocks most of the time. ;)
