Tom Cairney. Very composed on the ball with a great eye for a forward pass. We look a much better team any time that he's in the side.

If they'd had a full season under their belt, Conway, Gestede and Marshall would be great shouts. Plus you have to mention Rhodes for the goals that he scores.

I'd say Cairney for strong performances consistently over the season.

Rhodes goal record is still very strong but there are too many games he simply goes missing. Marshall and Conway would probably be contenders too if they'd been playing all season.

EDIT: I have literally just copied the above post haven't I?

Hard choice.

I agree on Cairney, Marshall, Conway and Rhodes.

I also think that Tommy Spurr has been really consistent over the course of the season.

However, I'm voting for Gestede, mainly because the few goals he has scored have been really important for the club.

Cairney gets my vote too. His vision is excellent and his ability to pass the ball is far superior to anyone else in the side. And he's been consistently top drawer all season, works hard too. His absence hurt us a lot, we only won one of the eight games he's not played in. He's entertaining to watch week after week, and it's a disappointment if he just has a 'good' game.

Out of the rest, I also think Hanley and Lowe have been great all season, unsung heroes who make up the backbone of the side. But they're not players who usually provide the magic moments that change games or excite fans. They're also both easier to cover for without wrecking the way we prefer to play.

Rhodes has a valid claim just for the goals he's scored, no matter how valid the criticisms of the rest of his game are, he's utterly brilliant at the most important aspect. But he did have a short goal drought, and when he's not scoring, it's hard to make a case for him still being the best player in the team.

And then there's players like Dunn, Conway, Gestede and Marshall who've made important contributions but not played enough of the season for me to consider them.

I went for Cairney too - he is the obvious choice. Lowe and Spurr close behind because they'll never get the recognition they deserve.

I nearly went for Cairney, who has definitely been fantastic for us, but in the end, I couldn't see beyond Rhodes. We've suffered in recent times for the lack of creativity in midfield AND someone who consistently scores goals, now we have both - and Conway would possibly have eclipsed both if he'd been with us for the whole season and played like he has since he joined us.

Gestede, Spurr, Marshall, Hanley, Kilgallon, Lowe...we have a really good core team here.

Bit disappointed Tudor isnt on there

Seriously, Cairney has been a lightning rod for creativity and cool headedness. Absolute bargain to sign him on permanently.

Surely it's Rochina

In all seriousness though i went for Cairney as he's a cut above the rest in our midfield. Rhodes second and in third i'd go for Spurr as it's been great to have a real left back again! If Conway or Rudy had been here all season then maybe one of those could have made the top three.

Can't believe I was the first to vote for Spurr, clearing Cairney had been outstanding, but for me I think Spurr deserves it for the following reasons:

First season at the club
Has played in every game
Has had to contend with an ever changing backline and goalkeepers through the season
Has consistently performed very well both defensively and in attack
Has chipped in with 3 goals which is a decent return for a full back
Has indirectly assisted a few goals with his long throws too

I also think in general Hanley, Kilgallon, Lowe, Conway, Marshall, Rhodes and Gestede have all performed really well, particularly Marshall, Conway and Gestede as new signings.

Tommy Spurr for me. Has hardly put a foot wrong all season and when we have needed consistency this season he has come in and been ever present.

Tommy Spurr. played well throughout with the least mistake.
Cairney okay never worth 90 mins big downfall to be player of the season.
Conway would be ideal choice if he was there from start
Lowe faltered a bit expected him to grow ,hope comes back strong next season.
Killa good but few games under his belt.
