Well, there it is. It didn't take long to Shef to score. I am afraid that's about it.

What did Smallwood do? Hopefully it was one of those necessary fouls rather than a shit tackle. Whatever it was he killed our game.

We have an advantage, do nothing with it, and then everything falls apart. Our results are becoming all too predictable.

Somebody said the other day "how long before people blame Mowbray." Well, he can't get all the blame, but he should certainly share it. Way too many late leads crumbling away, and downright falling apart late in games. We've lost 19 points from leading positions; I would say some of it rests on Mowbray.

Smallwood needs to know not to go in studs up around the opposing 18 yard box. It was definitely a yellow card offense, and only made it worse by Sheff Utd going down to 10 men earlier. Really disappointed how the team went to crap after that red card though.

It has been a horrible run of fixtures against the better teams in the league. It is not fair to be too critical of the players and the manager. That is what supporters of other clubs would like us to do. For me Rovers have had a very testing month where the quality of the opposition have been able to punish every mistake Rovers have made. It has highlighted a need for Rovers to improve and aspire to that level shown by the opposition. This time last year we where hoping to get out of League One. Only seven months ago there was jubilant scenes at Ewood Park. The first half of this season has been somewhat encouraging. I am not letting a few games in December taint the rest of the season. We only need a couple of more wins and safety will be in sight for Championship football next season. Also if Rovers can put up a decent show against Newcastle there may be an opportunity to proceed in the FA Cup.

I won't let a crappy run ruin it for me, either. But it would certainly be nice the next time out, if we see Rovers finish a game strong. I am ready to see some 2nd half performances equal to our first half's.

I do like our midfield - Reid, Smallwood and Travis- could be the shape of things to come
Up until Smallwood decided to get a ban..... :|

It's a bit annoying how much that killed our peformance whilst Sheffield United were able to cope with a man going off, though.

Ultmialtey the result I expected, but after 70 mins I did not see that scoreline coming. Smallwood was stupid in making that challenge. Really demonstrates a lack of football intelligence/maturity. Hopefully the one positive out of this is that it will present Travis an opportunity to play more games.

The goals conceded were an utter embarrassment, defensively all over the place.

It might sound harsh, but Lenihan and Williams make far too many costly mistakes. Not sure how to combat this, although I think Rodwell might have a part to play.

I’d be targeting a centre half in January. A big/commanding no nonsense defender. What’s Ryan Nelson up to these days?....

Retired. In 2013. And then coached in the MLS for a bit.
