I am also content with TM. He rebuilt our gutted roster, won promotion, & has made us competitive. I believe he knows what we need to continue to advance up the table.

If rovers are ultimately going to progress they might have to go down the continental route. Good home grown talent at player and manager level is few and far between. Not since the times of Alex Ferguson has there been a British manager winning the premier league. Rovers of course have a long way to go and another Jack Walker to play at that level again. We have seen in recent years with clubs like Fulham, Wolves and Huddersfield there is much to be gained by having a foreign manager/players at the club. How about the next David Wagner at the club, the next Ruben Neves pulling on a Rovers shirt. Tony Mowbray has said he would like to tap into the continental market. Steve Kean tried it though with Formica, Rochina, Petrovic, Vukcevic, Nunes, Jorge, Rosado and Portuguese legend Nuno Gomes. It didnt work. However we did have Tugay, Santa Cruz and Yakubu.

Even after all these years, I still shudder at the mere mention of names like ‘Petrovic’ and ‘Nunes’. :footinmouth:
