Did it even start with no one there to see it?

So... Can't score, can't defend, but dog shit doesn't stick around forever. It will change, it's just the how and when that are uncertain, and what's going to spark it. Hopefully, we get lucky and manage to go 2-0 up early in a game somewhere and give them a bit of confidence back.

Assuming they can get a few more points and not end up being relegated, I think it's safe to say this season's a write-off and has shown up the serious lack of depth, exprience and talent in some areas of the squad, and lack of plans b, c and d from the management. You'd hope planning for next season is well under way - but the majority of the squad as it stands is either a) not good enough to push for the Premier League or b) on loan and won't be here. I imagine Harry Pickering is probably regretting that contract he signed and wondering if he can go back to Crewe again as soon as he joins.

It's the bloody championship innit. When anyone can beat anyone, someone ends up getting beaten. We're as likely to go on a run of 8 unbeaten suddenly as not. It only seems like dog shit when you lose ;)

Again weekend showed that if a team doesn’t sit back we rip them apart. Throughout most of the season we have struggled when teams sit back. We have one of the best playmakers in Harvey Elliott albeit on loan but even he hasn’t changed our fortunes when teams sit back. Looking to next season what do people think we can do to change this? Limited budget, not sure who we could get as an upgrade to Harvey Elliott. Is it as simple as if teams sitting back we shift Armstrong to the wing (if not sold) and play Gallagher as striker. Get a few crosses in to him.

It's always nice to score 5 goals and win but we didn't learn a lot from Saturday. If a side is too open and sloppy in defence we punish them. This wasn't any different that the games against Coventry, Wycombe, Derby and Preston in the first half of the season.

Our inability to breakdown and score against a low block has been an achilles heel this season and I'd say last season to some degree. In Elliot, Rothwell, Holtby, Dolan and the games we had Dack there is more than enough technical quality to unlock those defences we just haven't. We've also not been clinical when chances came our way in a lot of these 1-0 defeats. Not sure Mowbray has done enough to date to to affect games we've been struggling in. Chopping and changing the starting XI above and beyond injuries (inconsistent use of Dolan, Rothwell, Brereton and Gallagher) and not having some kind of plan B other than just subbing on whichever attackers are on the bench all the the same time but tactically not really adjusting.

See what next season brings, there is enough quality in the squad as it stands to be much better than how we've played since Feb. I think most importantly is keeping Rothwell as he is integral to our attacking play. Also not convinced Arma definitely goes.

With Pickering and JRC possible full backs next season there is the option of delivering a lot of quality cross to Gallagher and Brereton as a plan B for sure.
