After seeing those first half highlights (because sleep), Watford should be up 3-1. Fabulous goal by Ben Brereton though. Defense needs to sort itself out on the marking on those counter attacks.

Foster saves the Arma penalty. Feel like that's the icing on the losing cake there.

So, Arma misses two big chances today. When folks start throwing around the blame, there’s enough to go around.Thorisgodpoo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 9:13 pmFoster saves the Arma penalty. Feel like that's the icing on the losing cake there.

I really hope Barry Douglas isn't far off from fitness. The amount of times I've seen Bell get nutmeged is fucking stupid.

Rovers, 66% poss; 18 shots, 7 on target, etc, if that’s all we knew, we would expect Rovers to be up, 3-1

Watford still have a decent amount of PL players in their side, so this was kind of expected. They have quality in their side that Rovers doesn't. I'm shining the spotlight on Bell until he is out of the starting 11. Those stupid tippy-taps and lack of effort drives me insane.
Harvey Elliot looked decent when he had the ball. Trybull made a mistake or two, wasn't terribly impressed. Wharton made a vital mistake that went unpunished. Johnson is really throwing himself around the pitch. Ben Brereton got off the mark with a goal, unfortunately didn't get a point or three to reward it. Armstrong looked okay, but finishing was rather woeful, especially with a penalty save. But that's what you have with the likes of Foster, a really solid mid-tier goalkeeper.
Overall kind of sad to see the loss. Started the season pretty strong, I think sides have figured us out already. Hopefully we can bounce back on Saturday and get a win. We are slumping right now.

What did we learn today?
For starters, Rovers can dominate play, but poor at finishing (Lenihan & Arma chances failed opportunities), and silly mistakes cost us a goal (missed pk), and gift a goal to perhaps the best side in the division. Can’t talk about promoting with horsecrap like that.
Secondly, help is on the way. Elliott played well, & Trybull ok in a cameo. Kaminski has been a solid keeper thus far. Douglas, as soon as he’s fit, should get the nod over Bell.
It all must be cleaned up. We need to see improvement- we’ve gone from 6th on the table, with a +8 goal diff, to 14th. Lots to work on.

All in all a decent showing. Watford looked dangerous when they came forward but that was infrequent. Rovers played well and if they play to that standard will get results more often then not. I wish that energy had been on display at the weekend.

I don't think you can play really well and concede goals very easily and remain positive all the time.
Slightly lost for words with tonight. But still feels like when teams with quality want to come forward and cut us open they do quite easily. Happened at Bournemouth and happened tonight.

Pretty much this. Two former PL teams come about and are extremely clinical. I think it says something about the gulf in talent and tactics.mcteeth wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 10:19 pmI don't think you can play really well and concede goals very easily and remain positive all the time.

I'm not sure the gulf is that big. We were a little unfortunate. What is so galling is how little Watford do to score 3 goals.
Same last season we conceded 2/3 goals in games last season whilst generally playing quite well. Not really sure what to make of it.

The big positive I do want to talk about is Ben Breretons goal. Absolutely killed it to just take the header from Armstrong, off the chest and just rip it without letting the ball hit the ground. To see that kind of confidence now is reassuring that more is to come from him.
