Do you mean Jim the farmer? He's a hoot.

Also, well done on the really early thread. Nobody would ever want to get rid of such skills.

Branthwaite looks set to start tomorrow and Nyambe is back which is a boost!

Stoke will predictably come and set up a low block as they did last season and in the recent 1-0 loss. Sadly it's a system a lot of teams are using successfully against us.

One thing I've been interested to see is if we can finally find a way to unlock these defensive units now we have close to full strength midfield and attack. If we've got Travis, Rothwell, Dack, Brereton, Elliot and Armstrong on the pitch we may finally have the right combinations to open team up.

The ability Dack has to take a quick one touch pass creates a lot of speed for the team. I would prefer to see Bell start again, seemed like he was starting to get a groove back.

Yeah I hope Bell start. He's been comfortably better than Douglas recently.

If Rothwell, Dack, Elliot, Brereton and Arma can't unlock a low block then I'm not sure we ever will

Conceding the first goal has been at the root of our problems. Once the opposition is forced to come out and attack, different game altogether.

Very true. But Stoke are going to come here and have 10 men camped about 30 yards from their goal.

Dacky was playing up front against Donny in the cup and it didn't work. I imagine that won't happen again if Armstrong is playing, but we do need to play him deeper in a CAM role so that he can influence the game more.

This is the line up I'd go for (not necessarily the one I expect though):

Kaminski
Nyambe - Lenihan - Branthwaite - Bell
Travis
Rothwell - Dack
Elliot - Arma - Big Ben

Bit harsh on Johnson as he's played alright at CB which is clearly not his position, but the best team has got to play!

Not great. With home games to come is it worth relaying the pitch provided funds were there? I know Swansea have.

Didn't lose.

Mowbray caused some of his own problems trying to revert back to 4-3-2-1 to suit Dack and it really didn't work.

Stick with 4-3-3 and Dack needs to fit into that system. Not starting Brereton also didn't make sense.

Fuck that was a frustrating match to watch. The fact Gallagher was put on instead of Brereton at half is confusing to me.
