Huddersfield Town v Blackburn Rovers, Tues 28th Sept 2021, KO 19.45

Discuss all things Rovers related except...

Just what the hell are ‘Hudders’ and why do you keep them in a field?

Those dangly things under a Hcow.

Lenihan out. He’s probably been feeling his groin again.
I think you mispelled 'Mowbray' ;)

I have to say, I really don't like Poveda at all. I think he is absolutely trash. Slows down the match on a legit breakaway a couple times, missing passes, and that damned left foot only business. Such a waste of a loan. I hope we can send him back in January.

Only watched the last 20 minutes, a lot going on. I think we definitely missed Lenihan and Nyambe this match. Sucks Nyambe went off with a concussion, and that back 3 setup with Carter and Magloire is kind of sketchy at best. Really could have tried to avoid the 3rd goal by taking a Huddersfield player down on that break.

I'm surprised to not see Davenport on the bench, seems to be a controlling midfielder that makes things happen.

Can't win them all, but Brereton adds 2 more goals to his tally for the season. 9 in 10 matches. I think this match is really exposing us to the fact that McBride or Butterworth aren't really up to 1st football or Mowbray isn't giving them a chance.

I notice that there is a lack of calling for TMs head at the moment.
Damnit we lost. Mowbray out! out! out! out!

It’s worrying if Lenihan, Nyambe AND Ayala are all out for any length of time. Carter seems capable, but there’s big question marks over Magloire’s ability to play at this level.

We need Wharton and Rankin Costello back ASAP.

Didn’t we sign a defender on loan from somewhere? What the Van Hecke happened to him?

It's a shame we lost but no disaster, we're still 6th and should be going into the weekend. Obviously the injuries didn't help but the 2nd and 3rd goals were really poor, I get his a young player but Magloire for the 2nd is really bad. If I had one consistent criticism of TM it's that we're sometimes too nice as a side and a bit of shithousery wouldn't go amiss. Especially for the 3rd goal we had Clarkson and Ayala both could have fouled and taken a yellow to stop that final attack, we were down to the bare bones at 2-2 just take a point and it's a great result.

Feel like it's the type of thing other teams routinely do and we just sometimes need to bring that mentality to games at the right time.

Also Thor completely agree on Poveda he's been abysmal. Made worse by Chapman being out on loan who surely wouldn't be a worse option and Butterworth sat on the bench. He's been that bad I'd send him back to Leeds now

Van Hecke joins us to finish his rehabilitation, Wharton in full training but not quite ready yet. Linky.
