Also, for Scott Wharton to drop back into the first team and smash it on his first appearance after a long absence through injury is a hell of an achievement.

I’m a huge believer, based on his loan spells plus performances for us last season, that he’s future captain material and we should be getting him on a new long term deal ASAP.

Apart from the flying scissor kick I think Van Hecke's been doing a good job for us so far. All of a sudden it looks like Mowbray has alternatives in several positions.

Probably true for previous seasons but when we have a preferable back 4, especially with Lenihan, then we're a pretty decent side.
