I read it as our colleague Mr Dazzle was telling the rumour mongering press to sod off.

Definitely don't want our good players going.
It makes me laugh how they always pick on us.
Yeah sorry that's what I meant. The press can go and do one.

Well that's the beginning of the end of him in a Rovers shirt. I'm not sure how a sideways move to Middlesbrough represents ambition and a desire to play in the top flight, but there we go. Not the first footballer to talk shite to try and justify jumping ship.

I think he is well within his rights, we are a club going backwards .. whereas Middlesbrough are able to make acquisitions.

They have a top manager we have a coach.

It is a step up similar to type he made from Huddersfield to Rovers.

All the best to him.

Really shocked that he's come out and said that he wants to be able to speak to Boro. I've always thought he was a model professional and have said that if he left, I would wish him all the best for the future so it's such a shame that he could ruin his reputation with our fans.

it smacks of a lack of ambition to me. There must be premiership clubs interested at a similar price point... he's only 25, but he has proved he can cut it in the championship. time to move up surely.

:whoosh: What defines Karanka as a "top manager"? He's in his first job, hasn't been there two years yet and hasn't achieved anything worth shouting about yet. The real irony is that if Bowyer was doing the same job he's doing with us elsewhere, Rovers fans would be hailing him as someone they'd want in charge of us.

The puzzle is how can Middlesbrough afford Rhodes?

You tell Rhodes to tell his uncle to get Boro to meet our valuation then he can talk to them. Simple.

Obviosuly just going for it. Whats the worst that can happen to them. They get a transfer embargo but already have downing and Rhodes on their books. If they get promoted theres no action. If we ever come out of this FFP embargo we should just go for it ourselves.

Got a feeling we may lose both Rhodes and Gestede. Find it hard to see how we can challenge for playoffs without both of them. The championship is a strange League though. Burnley list Austin and gained automatic promotion

With the exception of Rhodes and Gestede, and excluding players who are no longer at the club (Cairney, Baptiste etc), total league goals scored last season is as follows:

Marshall - 6
Conway - 3
Henley, Taylor, Evans, Hanley, Duffy, Kilgallon - 1 each

Total goals - 15
