Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Supposedly had a £200k bid for Pears knocked back by Boro. Would be a good capture if we can get it done, talented young backup GK.

Would be a decent signing on paper, if he performs as well as he can.
Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Sounds like Ayala may be back on. Good if true.

I'm not sure about this one. Not exactly bowled over by it.
Released by Borough and already snubbed us for a deal that didn't go through if reports are correct.
I'd feel better if we signed another CB to be first choice partner for Lenihan and have Ayala to replace Williams.

I think that's harsh. He's only 29 so a good couple of years left in him. He has been an above average Championship level central defender for a number of years and has experience of promotion. For a defender he also has a fairly reasonable scoring record.
Middlesbrough have got rid of players for strange reasons, Downing for one only came to us due to contractual and wage issues meaning they wanted to get rid of him.
We are nearly a very good side and a bit of experience defensively would be quite welcome I think.

You raise a good point with Downing. Hadn't really considered that.mcteeth wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 4:18 pmI think that's harsh. He's only 29 so a good couple of years left in him. On a free is definitely a bonus. Leaves the funds for a quality LB

Really good signing I think. We need his experience given that left back is really our only other problem position now if Bell can't refind the form he was showing before lockdown having a defender who knows what he is doing does help.

I’m happy about Ayala coming aboard. Good addition. Especially if Williams leaves for MLS.

Reports suggesting he won't have to quarantine either.

Mowbray suggesting we have a left back lined up, just waiting on the player to accept terms.

It appears a couple of things fell through; now, Manning surfaces as an option. Tony doesn’t want to go to loaner options, and that’s understandable. Maybe this deal can be completed.

He's been left out of the QPR squad again this evening. Could be some truth in it. I hope so. Sounds decent!

According to a gossip on a QPR forum. Manning has been left out until he signs a new contract, and is in the process of changing agents.
Weren't we interested in Manning before?
