3 yr old being scouted
\"He's three now and he has played competitive matches with seven and eight-year-olds.
\"It's just a discipline thing at the minute trying to get him under control, but other than that he is very competitive and a very good lad.\"
...he curls the ball into the bottom corner of the goal from 20 yards...

How sad, by all means let the lad play footy and enjoy every minute but scouting him at 3yr old FFS

They'll be holding their hands to the bellys of pregnant women soon to see which unborn child has the strongest kick...........................................hang on I might have stumbled on summat there

We're just a few European by-laws away from genetically engineering footballers...

This new Wayne Rooney lad DC United have discovered seems much better than the dried out husk who we had playing for England a few years ago.

90th + 5 minute, looking for a win. That's why the keeper is up at that minute.
Plus it's the MLS. To say the least, the days of boring matches are only confined to the likes of the Columbus Crew. And yes, I support the Columbus Crew, because why wouldn't you support a club when your mascot is Crew Cat!

But they were drawing.

what lunatic risks losing for the almost non existant chance the goalkeeper will influence the set piece enough to score?

An american lunatic. You wouldn’t get away with it in top European leagues certainly.

That doesn't really clear it up. The question was really what the hell have the Americans done to "soccer" that means it's all or nothing in the last minute of normal time? Why is a draw as good as a defeat?

To be fair, it's how I play FIFA or Pro Evo. All or nothing. Draws are for losers.

Have you not taken notice of the American sports complex? Ties don't happen unless it's after 15 minutes in American football.

So they’ve re-written the rules of the game again?
