Any Aphex Twin fans? He's been mischievously uploading old unreleased tracks. Over 100 tracks in 3 days so far.

Gruff Rhys' "American Interiors" show - worth watching even if you're not that big a fan of his music. I don't think I've laughed so much at a music gig before...

Went to see War on Drugs. Summary: dull dad rock. Reminds me of Dire Straits crossed with Crowded House and a bit of Bryan Adams for good measure.

I just went through a few of their songs on youtube, and the above is pretty accurate! He is almost imitating Mark Knoffler at times. I can sense a bit of a Dylan singing style too which is a bit cringe worthy.mrblackbat wrote:Went to see War on Drugs. Summary: dull dad rock. I quite like the mellow feel of it though....

The album is fine, just was very dull for a gig. Even the girlfriend agreed and she was the one who wanted to go.
The Dylan influence is well documented, both the singer and keyboardist are big fans.

Lost In The Dream is one of my favourite "walking" albums, when I've got somewhere vaguely metropolitan to be and all the time in the world to get there. Translates well in art galleries too.
However, I do imagine that it'd be dull live. Sleaford Mods are who I really want to see live, sooner rather than later. Pair of washed up, angsty old twats. John Cooper Clarke meets the Distants.
