What music are you listening to?
I am of the opinion that the greatest rock bands are English. I was born in '62, so I was a wee bit of a lad, when the Beatles broke up.
However, I was a teenager during the greatest...Led Zeppelin would still have to rate as my favorite. Rush & April Wine, my favorite bands from N. America.
Steely Dan I can listen to, night or day. Great studio musicians Fagen & Becker called upon (Chuck Rainey, Victor Feldman, etc) cast them more into the jazz/rock mold.
But, I was in college during the 80's, so I love The Cars, The Police, Tom Petty, & the 2nd British Invasion bands, as well. I keep Tears For Fears, The Talking Heads, Human League, &
Duran Duran close at hand.
So, what are you listening to?

I get easily annoyed with the radio and am too lazy to find my own music

Been checking out lots of pedal steel guitar after listening to Gruff Rhys' American Interior album recently.
It's such an awesome sounding instrument that it's even worth putting up with country music for. Some classic crossover stuff by The Byrds, Elton John on Tiny Dancer, and people like George Harrison, Steve Stills, Neil Young and so on.
Anyone got any particularly good pedal steel recommendations?

I don't particularly like country music but I am an appreciator of steel guitar. I'd go with Gram Parsons' Grievous Angel and The Gilded Palace of Sin by the Flying Burrito Brothers, which is about as country as I can go. John Prine's eponymous 1971 album might also be a valid suggestion.mrblackbat wrote: ↑Tue Mar 27, 2018 5:20 pmBeen checking out lots of pedal steel guitar after listening to Gruff Rhys' American Interior album recently.

Flying Burrito Bros are ace, the Sweetheart of the Rodeo album by the Byrds with Gram Parsons on is also equally wicked.

I don’t recall how the rest of the album fares pedal guitar-wise, but this made for pleasant listening

New Pearl Jam seems to be channeling Talking Heads/Depeche Mode and is pretty great.
