I spoke to my head of department and she wasn't consulted in regards to this "performance review" and she is happy with my level of work, and sees me as a valuable member of the department.

I really wish my colleagues would learn to consult me before they start trying to fix problems on our computer system. Or at least tell me when they realise something hasn't worked as they expected.

Ah yes, but IT departments are difficult to liaise with not least because they lack the understanding of basic Human interaction. To be fair to rory 'IT' is usually a decent guess in any online discussion - especially when they refer to 'fixing computer problems'
