Miss, Mrs or Ms?
Which is it best to use if you have to write a letter to a woman and they haven't specified which they prefer?

Ms - it's the default option when you're unaware of their status or preference.
Because of the nature of my work and the 'tone' I use when making contact, I pretty much use first names instead though.

Does she inspect businesses and ask silly questions along the lines of "why aren't these apples oranges?" where the answer should be obvious but is difficult to explain in writing?
